From the very old to the very new! Some of the orchards located in
our region are well over one-hundred years old. Immigrants came
to this area to start orchards because the climate and terrain were
perfect for growing fruit. In recent years, grapes have been added
to the apples and peaches, as the every-growing Shawnee Hills Wine
Trail emerged as one of the top tourism attractions in Southernr Illinois.
